Free video tutorials on how to become a blogger

Gideon Shalwick and Yaro Starak have released a set of 10 FREE videos walking you through how to set up and start writing a blog of your own. The videos are very detailed - from how to get a web host to using feedburner for your RSS feeds - it explains everything you need to know in order to set up your own Wordpress blog.

When you have finished watching the videos or are interested in further training they also offer a free report called “Roadmap to become a blogger” This goes into much more detail about how to make your blog successful and start you on your way to being a professional blogger. All this is free so definitely worth a look.

The best blog coaching program at a discount

I wrote about Yaro Starak’s blog coaching program a few days ago. Yaro just informed me that his Blog Mastermind coaching program currently charges in Australian dollars rather then US dollars.

Since the US dollar is anywhere from 5% to 10% stronger than the Aussie dollar as I write this, that’s a 5% to 10% price saving for you if you join Blog Mastermind now.

You can sign-up here.

By now you probably know about Blog Mastermind. Read more

Some site changes

This is just a quick post about a few site changes. One is that I have removed the nofollow tags from comments, so leaving a comment means search engine spiders will visit your site also.

The other change is the possible changing of the web design directory from free to paid submissions only. I’m not 100% sure I’ll do this but I am having trouble keeping up with the amount of web sites being submitted. If I do start charging it will probably be a small amount like a $7 one off processing fee. But like I said this is not for certain and is still free at the moment.

New Poll

Last week’s poll is now finished, thanks everyone who voted. This week’s poll is asking about your web design experience. This helps me decide what kind of posts to make on this site, depending on your experience with web design. I’m trying to determine whether most of you are seasoned web designers or relatively new to it. To vote please visit the front page of this site here. Thanks!

Free re-design for a non profit

Portland Designs is offering a free re-design to a non profit group as a way of building up their portfolio. If you are interested head over to their site.

Need a web site designed for free?

Mitch Bryson is asking for submissions from companies or individuals who would like a small web site designed (for free). There is only one spot available and the condition is that the design process will be blogged about from start to finish by the designer. This is a good opportunity to get started with that site you have been thinking about so head over to his site and enter.

What kind of templates would you like to see here?

At the moment I offer free html templates on this site but I know that these days people are moving towards content management systems and blogs so I was wondering: what kind of templates would you like to see on this site?

1) Continue with plain html templates?
2) Create free wordpress themes?
3) Create custom unique wordpress themes?
4) Other cms templates?

Let me know in the comments area or send me an email with your comments.

Site update

If you have visited this site before you may have noticed that many things have been changed. I have started using Wordpress to organize my site and so many URLs have been changed and also the site looks a little empty in places (such as the comments area). This will hopefully change in the weeks to come and anything not working will be fixed. If you have any ideas for improvement, you have requests or have found something not working on the site please leave a comment or send me an email and I’ll see what I can do.

Don’t forget that you can now subscribe to this site in your RSS feed reader and be notified of site updates the moment they happen. Click here to add this site to your reader.
